Board approves new rules for free space at the Reliable Source
The National Press Club Board of Governors with guidance from the House and Bar Committee has passed new rules regarding reserving space in the Reliable Source restaurant. The Board of Governors approved the updated policies in June. The new rules are listed below and posted online here. Visit Fredericksburg on annual Civil War battlefield tour, Sept. 12
National Press Club members will visit the Civil War battlefields in and around Fredericksburg, VA, during the Club’s annual Civil War trip on Saturday, Sept. 12. An expert National Park Service guide will point out the highlights of the Dec. 11 to 15, 1862, Battle of Fredericksburg, one of the largest and deadliest battles of the Civil War. There were 18,000 casualties in the vicious fighting, more than 13,000 of them on the Union side. GW photojournalism professor Susan Sterner to speak to Photo Committee on July 16
George Washington University Professor Susan Sterner will give an illustrated talk on "New Media Photojournalism" at the next Photography Committee meeting, at noon Thursday, July 16. Themeeting is free and open to all Press Club members. Sterner heads the Masters Degree program in New Media Photojournalism at GW. She has been a staff photographer for The Associated Press, based in Mississippi and California covering domestic issues such as immigration, child labor and families in poverty. Member's Lincoln Play this weekend and next in Greenbelt
National Press Club member Anthony Gallo's play, "The Springfield Boys” will be presented by the Greenbelt Arts Center over the next two weekends. The production marks the first time in theatrical history that a non-Caucasian actor will perform the role of Abraham Lincoln. The deadline is fast approaching for members to submit their best shots for the 16th Annual National Press Club Members’ Photo Exhibit. Photos are due in the Club’s Membership Office, beginning Monday, Aug. 3. The last time to submit photos is close of business Friday, Aug. 14. Each member may submit up to four photos. Each photo may not exceed 11 x 14” (print and mat), and all photos must be securely mounted and matted.
