Washington Post newsroom tour on Jan. 21 exclusively for NPC members
The Events Committee has scheduled a tour of the new Washington Post newsroom on Thursday, January 21, for NPC members only. The tour will take place from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Members will see the newsroom for the first half-hour, and then attend the story conference meeting that will demonstrate the Post’s digital responsiveness. There is no cost for the tour, but it is limited to a maximum of 20 people. Registration is first come – first served. Interested members may register here.

Member Gallo play to be staged by Dramatists Guild of America in Baltimore
Paul, a two act drama by member Anthony E. Gallo, will be staged on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. at the Audrey Herman Spotlighters Theater, 817 Saint Paul Street, Baltimore, MD. Richard McClary's retirement party and cake-cutting on Jan. 13, 3:30 p.m.
After 49 plus years serving drinks to Press Club members, Reliable Source Bartender Richard McClary retired at the end of last year. To honor Richard and to meet his family, all Press Club members are invited to a cake cutting ceremony Wednesday, Jan. 13. The event will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the First Amendment Lounge. Richard was the longest tenured employee in Press Club history, tending bar through the administrations of some 50 Club presidents and nine U.S. Presidents. He will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know him.

Hughes to pass NPC president's gavel to Burr at general membership meeting, Jan. 15
NPC members are invited to the first general membership meeting of 2016 on Friday, Jan. 15. President John Hughes will pass the gavel to Vice President Thomas Burr, who was voted in to the top Club officer position last month. Burr will be the Club's 109th president. The meeting will begin at noon with a buffet lunch. The business portion, which will include reports by the 2015 officers, will begin at 12:15 p.m. Members planning to attend are requested to RSVP to [email protected].
