The National Press Club's Silver Owls are planning their Fall Hoot featuring acclaimed reporter and raconteur Tom DeFrank for Nov. 14 at noon in the NPC's Holeman Lounge. Volunteers needed to mentor young members
More than two dozen young members have signed up for an NPC mentor. To meet the needs, the club is seeking volunteer mentors. Open to both journalists and communicators, the program is intended to create the kind of inter-generational connections that were always a benefit of belonging to the club but are increasingly difficult to establish in the 24/7 news cycle of today. Nominations for officers and board members run through Friday, Oct. 30
Nominations for this year's annual National Press Club elections for officers and board members run through Friday, Oct. 30. Nominating petitions must be placed on the tables outside the president's office for members to sign by Friday, Oct. 23. The nomination period will be followed by candidate vetting. Members will be able to vote online, by absentee ballot and in person. Members who choose to vote in person will cast their ballots on Friday, Dec. 11. The election results will be announced that evening.

Did you know members can reserve three Club spaces for free?
The McClendon Room, the Games Room and the Mezzanine are available to members as an exceptional venue for meetings, cocktail parties and other special occasions. The spaces are located on the 14th floor of the National Press Club.
