Jones: Legion aims to ease transition to civilian life for service men and women
"Transition to civilian life is still a challenge for our service men and women," Verna Jones, executive director in charge of the American Legion's Washington office, told a meeting of NPC American Legion Post 20 on Aug. 17. "It is surprising how unprepared many are" despite efforts by the military to prepare service personnel for life as civilians, she said. "The American Legion is available to help." Attention photographers! Final call for members' exhibit photos
This is it. The final deadline to enter your brilliant photos for the 17th annual National Press Club Members' Photography Exhibit is this Friday, Aug. 12. All entries must be submitted to the Club's membership office on the 13th floor by that date. Because of space limitations, NPC's Photography Committee gives preference to photos entered by the deadline. Up to four photos may be submitted by any NPC member, with a maximum overall size (print + mat) of 11 x 14 inches. Prints must be securely mounted on sturdy mounting board.
