Memorial for former NPC president Art Wiese on Saturday
The National Press Club will honor former President Arthur E.F. Wiese Jr. at a memorial service at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Wiese, who served as club president in 1979, also chaired the committee that redesigned the Club in the early 1980s when the National Press Building underwent a full renovation. Though Wiese had a full committee of members, he did almost all of the work himself, working with architects and designers. The appearance of the club today mostly reflects his efforts. They are perfect to give to your colleagues who are interested in joining the Club or to visiting family and friends. Sportscaster Phil Wood to join Club at Nationals game Saturday
Phil Wood, host of “Nats Talk” on MASN, the cable TV home of the Washington Nationals, will meet the National Press Club contingent attending this Saturday's game at Nationals Park. Members of the group can gather near Wood's radio studio, which he calls "The Little Red Box," in the Center Field Plaza at 6:15 p.m. for an informal question-and-answer session.
