David Shuey, an actor and historian, plans to portray Gen. John J. Pershing at the National Press Club noon on Wednesday, Oct. 5 in the NPC's McClendon Room at a luncheon meeting of NPC American Legion Post 20. All Press Club members are invited to watch Shuey's portrayal of the World War I general who, as a member of the Club, urged the establishment of Post 20 nearly 100 years ago. Clark Hoyt, whose career spanned 50 years as a newspaper reporter, editor, corporate news executive and news ombudsman, headlines the National Press Club's Silver Owls Fall Hoot, discussing “The Shrinking of Old-Fashioned News Media and the Crazy 2016 Election. Former NPC President Cosgrove's 100th birthday bash postponed

Club member Mitchell Marovitz, chair of the Public Relations Graduate School Program at the University of Maryland University College, will be inducted into the National Capital Public Relations Hall of Fame on Thursday, Sept. 22.
