If it is Friday, it must be Taco Night in the Reliable Source. The Friday taco bar is a one of the things for which the National Press Club is most renowned. It was once said that legions of Capitol Hill staffers made it through their internships based on this Club tradition. Having said that, we are always trying to keep the offerings fresh and timely. Legion post's 1919 temporary charter, one of first in U.S., now on display at Club
The National Press Club was one of the first venues in the nation to host an American Legion Post after the veterans' service organization was founded in the aftermath of World War I. The Post's temporary charter, granted Nov. 19, 1919, just two months after the Legion was chartered by Congress, is now on display in the newly renovated McClendon Room. The charter lists the Post's 16 founding members and joins the permanent charter already on display and granted on Sept. 1, 1923. Pakistani media not influenced by Taliban, editor tells Virtual Book Rap

Additional journalist board seat opens for Club elections
An additional journalist seat has opened on the National Press Club Board of Governors and is being added to the list of board and officer positions up for election in December. The Club’s annual election is slated for Friday, Dec. 4. The nominating process opened on Oct. 21 for Club members who wish to become candidates. Runners, supporters needed for Foley Freedom Run to promote press freedom, Saturday
Looking for a way to exercise while also supporting press freedom? The National Press Club is recruiting runners and/or walkers to join the Club team to raise money to support the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation. The virtual Sixth Annual Foley Freedom Run will take place at a venue of your choosing this Saturday, Oct. 17, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Runners can sign up online.
