National Press Club members are invited to share coffee, conversation and a discussion of challenges with fellow indie authors on Thursday, Dec. 13, at 10 a.m. in the McClendon Room. Meet the Club candidates forum scheduled for Monday at noon
The National Press Club's American Legion Post 20 will host its annual candidates forum at a luncheon meeting noon on Monday, Dec. 3, in the McClendon Room. All candidates are invited to make brief remarks on their qualifications, goals and priorities for next year. Election Day is Dec. 7. The candidate portion of the meeting is open to all Club members. Post 20 was founded in 1919 and has been associated with the Club ever since. It was started at the suggestion of World War I Gen. John 'Black Jack' Pershing, who was an associate Club member. Children's holiday party set for Dec. 8
Don’t forget to make plans to attend the National Press Club's Annual Children's Holiday Party Saturday, Dec. 8. The party starts at 11 a.m. with a buffet that includes corn dog, hamburgers, French fries and even fruit and vegetables. Tickets are just $10, and reservations can be made online. A DJ will spin tunes and the Cardinal Cloggers, which include former Club President Theresa Werner, will be back to perform. Santa Claus will drop by to say hello. There also will be face painting and the annual chance to decorate a gingerbread cookie.

Online voting begins in Club election
Online voting begins Monday in the National Press Club elections The online ballot and candidate statements can be found here. Members will first need to log in to the website with their identification and password to view the election information. Online voting ends on Thursday, Dec. 6. Members may also vote in person on Friday, Dec. 7, at the Club from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Once the polls close, ballots will be counted and the results announced in the Reliable Source restaurant.
