Kodjak slate sweeps Club elections
NPR health-policy correspondent Alison Fitzgerald Kodjak and her entire slate of officer and board member candidates were easily elected to lead the National Press Club in 2019. Weeks-long balloting ended Friday evening with a celebration at the Club's Reliable Source. Those running for officer positions are: president, Alison Fitzgerald Kodjak; vice president, Michael Freedman; treasurer, Peter Urban; secretary Fouad Arif; membership secretary, Eileen Drage O’Reilly. Independent authors plan gathering to discuss publishing, marketing Today at 10 a.m.
A session to help independent authors with publishing, distribution, and marketing is slated to take place today, Thursday, Dec. 13, at 10 a.m. in the McClendon Room. Club Election Day is Friday; Online voting ends Thursday
The National Press Club's annual Election Day is Friday. Members are invited to hear the results and celebrate with the newly elected Board in the Reliable Source. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., with the results announced after the votes are counted. The winners will join the Board of Governors in January 2019 and lead the Club next year. Candidate statements are posted online. That's also where online voting will take place through Thursday. Annual Children's Holiday Party coming up fast
Time is running out to buy tickets for the National Press Club's Annual Children's Holiday Party beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8. Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased online. A buffet lunch gives way to a DJ and dancing, plus the traditional appearance by the Cardinal Cloggers. There will be a chance to decorate a gingerbread cookie and enjoy a visit from Santa Claus.
