Journalists who have done outstanding work covering the problems of the elderly are encouraged to enter the National Press Club’s annual journalism contest. One of the contest's awards, The Joseph D. Ryle Award for Excellence in Writing on the Problems of Geriatrics, honors top reporting on aging. Named after Joseph D.
