FEC Commissioner Ellen Weintraub will deliver the keynote address at the National Press Club Journalism Institute's workshop on possible scenarios for the 2020 presidential election. Japan officially surrenders, ending World War II, on the battleship USS Missouri. Clifton Truman Daniel, grandson of President Harry S. Truman, will speak as part of the National Press Club’s commemoration of Japan’s official surrender on the battleship USS Missouri 75 years ago on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Since the National Press Club's Journalism Institute launched a daily “Covering Coronavirus,” newsletter in March, the pandemic spread, protests grew against systemic racism, and the presidential election reshaped itself.
