The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the conference rooms. Remembering Herbert Hoover: Snippet of Press Club history
Herbert Hoover was a dues-paying National Press Club member for decades, far longer than any of the other U. S. presidents who have belonged, many of them as honorary members. Hoover joined in 1921, eight years before he entered the White House, and was a frequent Club speaker. His last such appearance, in 1954, 21 years after he left the presidency, drew a luncheon audience of almost 500 people.
