Veterans Day is a time to remember the hundreds of the National Press Club members who served in the nation's armed forces. Many prominent members were once citizen soldiers, including Club presidents who served in World War I and II and Vietnam. Others were on the front lines as war correspondents. Former Georgia House Democratic Leader Stacey Abrams will deliver a major speech on voter suppression one year after her narrow defeat in Georgia's gubernatorial race at a National Press Club Headliners luncheon on Friday, Nov. 15. With Washington again embroiled in an impeachment battle, learn about the days leading up to the resignation of President Richard Nixon from an eyewitness to those events. James Reston, Jr., will present his book, "The Impeachment Diary: Eyewitness to the Removal of a President," at a National Press Club Headliners Book Rap on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the conference rooms.
