Gina McCarthy, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, plans to discuss priorities in dealing with climate change at a National Press Club breakfast at 9 a.m. on Sept. 20. Spelling Bee pits journalists vs. lawmakers, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. at National Press Club
Lawmakers and journalists plan to reprise a 100-year-old event by participating in the National Press Club's Spelling Bee on Wednesday. New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu and Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter plan to address the National Press Club at a luncheon on Sept. 26. The big city leaders are scheduled to discuss their campaign to cut the nation’s murder rates, reduce gun violence and to address other issues affecting the urban community. 36th Annual National Press Club Book Fair seeks authors, applications due Sept. 27
Applications are currently being accepted for authors to participate in the 36th Annual Book Fair and Authors’ Night in November. The application deadline is Sept. 27.
