The time to get your entries ready is now! The April 1 deadline for the National Press Club’s annual journalism contest is fast approaching. The contest will honor entries for work done in 2014 for top news photo and top feature photo, breaking news competition for print/online and for broadcast and many other categories traditionally included in the contest. Vinton G. "Vint" Cerf, Chief Internet Evangelist for Google and one of the co-founders of the Internet, will headline a National Press Club Luncheon on Monday, May 4. They’re back. Five close-up magicians will entertain club members and guests at a free, family friendly magic show beginning at 7 p.m. Monday, April 27 in the conference rooms. Dr. Margaret Hamburg, Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration since May 2009, will focus on "Lessons Learned: How FDA Matters" at a National Press Club Newsmaker Luncheon on March 27. The photographer whose panoramic photos are currently on display in the National Press Club lobby, Abbas Shirmohammadi, will speak at an event sponsored by the Photo Committee, at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, March 19 in the Zenger Room.
