Program on winning a Pulitzer to be held June 3 at the Club
Club member Amy Ellis Nutt, a Washington Post staffer, will speak at noon on Wednesday, June 3, on her work toward winning a 2011 Pulitzer Prize for feature writing, and what her experience of winning was like. Tips and notes from a Pulitzer winner, open to Club members and the public, will take place in the McClendon Room. It is sponsored by the American Women Writers National Museum. C-SPAN executive chairman and founder Brian Lamb thanked the National Press Club profusely this week for helping get the network off the ground, as he talked to a group of 30 Club members and guests at the Broadcast Committee's second "Legends of Broadcasting" dinner on May 12 at the Fourth Estate restaurant. In the beginning, C-SPAN relied on congressional cameras for a feed of hours House and Senate floor proceedings but had no cameras of its own and did not cover hearings, Lamb said.
