Lithuanian journalist, threatened with imprisonment, to appear at Newsmaker
Lithuanian journalist, politician and diplomat Algirdas Paleckis is scheduled to appear at an NPC Newsmaker event at noon Thursday, June 7 in the Bloomberg Room. He is threatened by the state prosecutor in Lithuania with one year in prison for revealing what Paleckis says are “inconvenient facts for the ultra-right Lithuanian government" concerning violent actions in his country in 1991.
