'Country Editor' Loaned to Brooklyn Museum for Exhibit
The NPC’s Rockwell painting, “Norman Rockwell Visits a Country Editor,” is on its way to the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the second venue of the highly popular exhibit, “Norman Rockwell: Behind the Camera,” sponsored by the Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Mass. “Country Editor” appeared in the May 25, 1946, Saturday Evening Post and depicts the Monroe County Appeal, a weekly that has been published continuously in Paris, Mo., since 1867. Energy Scientist Recommends Reliance on All Sources
The United States could reach its long-term energy goals by adopting a mix of energy sources (one-third fossil fuel, one-third renewables and one-third nuclear) by 2040 at a cost of more than $60 trillion, according to a report released at the Club Nov. 3. Jim Conca, a scientist at Eastern New Mexico University, was commissioned by the Department of Energy to provide long-term sustainable solution to U.S. energy challenges.
