The National Press Club’s Book Fair & Authors’ Night has chosen Jim Lehrer of the Public Broadcasting System as honorary chairman. The NPC Book Fair is scheduled for Nov. 15 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at the Club. Nearly 100 authors are expected to participate in the Club's premier literary event of the holiday season. Press Building beefs up security for Sept. 11 anniversary
Please plan for possible delays from extra security measures being instituted at the National Press Building in the days before and after the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Starting Thursday night, Sept. 8, the building is asking everyone who enters the lobby to provide an ID and to sign in and state their destination. These measures are expected to cause lines to form at key traffic times, such as morning and noon and when big events are taking place at the National Press Club.
