The first nationally televised sporting event to be telecast in 3D will be shown from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 8 and 9, in the Bloomberg Room on the 13th floor. Members-Only Session on Covering the Senate, 10 am April 16
A session on how to cover the Senate, including a tour of the Senate Press Gallery, is from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, April 16. It is open to NPC members only. Hosted by the Professional Development Committee, the session will include a briefing by Joe Kennan, the gallery's director who has more than 30 years of Senate experience. This event is free but limited to the first 20 participants to sign up. Mentors Needed for NPC Program; Sign up by April 15
Applications for participation in the 2010 National Press Club MentoringProgram are due Thursday, April 15. As of this week, 10 members have applied to be mentees and five to be mentors. Experienced journalists and PR pros who are willing to donate time to help young communicators develop are especially welcome. This is a one-year commitment aimed at benefiting members at all stages of their careers. The program is open to journalists and PR professionals. Travel Committee Reception, 7 pm April 22
The Travel Committee will host a reception at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, for Club members and guests. Come learn about 2010 trips, including a Bermuda cruise; Paris; a riverboat cruise in Burgundy; Budapest/Cracow/Prague; Laos and Burma; and Buenos Aires. Trips being considered for 2011 include Scotland; Berlin and Dresden; Tibet and China; Calgary and the Canadian Rockies; Morocco; and Moscow/St. Petersburg. Kid Food on Menu for Magic Night, April 14: Reservations Suggested
Fish fingers, hot dogs and other kid friendly foods will be on the Reliable Source menu for Magic Night on Wednesday, April 14.
