Journopalooza II Tickets on Sale; NPC Members Get Discount
Tickets are selling quickly for Journopalooza, the journalism fund-raiser set to rock the ballroom starting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 8. Four DC media bands including NPC members and journalists from The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, McClatchy, Reuters, The Washington Post and others will be playing for the Eric Friedheim National Journalism Library, Reporters Without Borders and the Committee to Protect Journalists. Revelers Welcome 2010
More than 200 members and guests celebrated New Year's Eve in the NPC's Ballroom to the music of Doc Scantlin and His Imperial Palms Orchestra. It was a return appearance for this well-known big band group, which last performed at the NPC's Centennial gala on April 5, 2008. The New Year's Eve celebration featured abundant appetizers, an open bar, a midnight toast, and festive party favors.

Frosty, Loyal Nats Fan, Wins NPC Snowman Contest
Sophia Donnelly, daughter of Club member John Donnelly, vice chairman of the NPC Board of Governors, is the winner of the NPC Snow Day Snowman Contest. Sophia's well-designed snowman incorporated all the traditions of a typical Frosty but also demonstrated her devotion to the sports teams of the Nation's Capital, despite their mediocre records.
