Bjerga Inaugural Address to Discuss NPC Role in Helping Journalism Meet Challenges
Alan Bjerga, the Club's 103rd president, will talk about current issues facing the news industry at his inaugural gala, Saturday, Jan. 30. New Name for History Committee
The History and Heritage Committee is the new name of the Club committee that deals with collecting, preserving and publicizing NPC history. A change from History Committee was approved last week by President Alan Bjerga and reflects the committee's intention to do more than perform oral history interviews. On the drawing board are programs to remember the 25th anniversary of the merger of the NPC and the Washington Press Club and the reopening of the reconstruction National Press Building. Seminar on Helping Staff Cope with Haiti Coverage, 9 am Feb. 2
A session for newsroom managers whose staffs are covering the earthquake and aftermath in Haiti will be conducted from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2.
