George Solomon will roast and toast Washington Post editor and Pulitzer Prize winner Bob Woodward at the Fourth Estate Award dinner Friday, Sept. 21. Solomon, a long-time friend and former Washington Post colleague of Woodward, is a professor and the director of the Shirley Povich Center for Sports Journalism at the University of Maryland. Historians and journalists will analyze how President Dwight D. Eisenhower changed the relationship between the White House and the media at 6 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the National Press Club. Armstrong outlined top 20th Century engineering achievements at 2000 Club luncheon
Neil Armstong, the first man to walk on the moon, outlined the top engineering achievements in the 20th Century at a National Press Club luncheon on Feb. 22, 2000, nearly 31 years after his historic lunar moment. His speech, entitled "The Engineered Century," analyzed the National Academy of Engineering's top 20 choices.
