The head of the Girl Scouts and the chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board are among the National Press Club luncheon speakers coming in June. First up is the first Latina to serve as chief executive of Girl Scouts, Anna Maria Chavez, who will speak Monday, June 13, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the highest honor in Girl Scouting, the Gold Award. NPC American Legion Post to honor WWII vet Metelsky, talk Ike, June 6
The anniversary of D-Day will include a status report on the Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial and a ceremony honoring long-time NPC member and WWII veteran John Metelsky at a June 6 noon luncheon meeting of NPC American Legion Post 20 in the McClendon Room. The ceremony and report portions of the meeting are open to all NPC members. Metelsky, whose many photographs of NPC events are on display in the Club, is the only member of Post 20 who qualifies for American Legion membership for having served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. NSA Chief Rogers to discuss cyber war at Thursday July 14 Club luncheon
National Security Agency Director Michael Rogers will discuss the continuing cyber security challenges facing the U.S. and the world at a National Press Club Luncheon on Thursday, July 14.
