Applications for the Club's annual book fair are being accepted through 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 25. Applications and materials received after this period will not be reviewed. Applicants will be notified of committee decisions via email by Oct. 9. All literary genres are considered however self-published books and books only available in e-format will not be accepted. Imagine being able to call on legendary CBS Evening News anchor Walter Cronkite to do a radio broadcast when you needed to emphasize the importance of an historic event. As general manager of CBS Radio Network News, National Press Club board member Mike Freedman had that authority and used it judiciously.
