Washington regional writers: Time to get those entries in
The time is here for Washington regional writers to get their entries in to the National Press Club journalism contest. The deadline has been extended to April 16 to allow a little more time to get the entries in. For Club members, entries are free, others pay $50 per entry. The awards will be given at a banquet this summer at the Club. Senator plans to discuss pension plan problem, new committee at Headliners Luncheon
Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, plans to discuss the nation’s pending pension crisis and the new, bipartisan congressional committee that was formed to find a solution at a National Press Club Headliners Luncheon on Thursday, April 12. Press Club journalism contest offers good opportunities for broadcasters’ best work
The National Press Club wants to recognize the best broadcast journalism from 2017 in a variety of categories. Entries are free for Club members and $50 for non-members. The deadline is April 16. The categories of broadcast competition: Consumer Journalism including network, syndicates, cable and broadcast TV and radio stations. Entries can be a single broadcast or a series of broadcasts that will be judged as a unit. The National Press Club is accepting breaking news entries for broadcast and print as part of its annual journalism awards. The deadline is April 16. Breaking news is one of the most important assignments journalists have, and the Club wants to recognize the very best work in both broadcast and for print/online stories from 2017. The National Press Club has extended the deadline for its annual journalism contest to Monday, April 16. Awards for the best work published in 2017 in breaking news, political coverage, broadcast news, consumer news, online news, foreign coverage and news photos are among those being offered.
