The National Press Club, in association with CBS Radio Network and American Heritage Magazine, presents Marty Bufalini’s “It’s a Wonderful Life: The Radio Show,” an adaptation of the classic story of George Bailey who, exasperated by life's challenges, wishes he'd never been born. Granted his wish by his guardian angel, he learns the positive impact that each of our lives has on so many others. The National Press Club inaugurated Jen Judson, as its 115th President on May 3, 2022. She pledged in her address to work to restore public trust in the media and advocate for press freedom around the world. Judson, the land warfare reporter at Defense News, said that after four years of attacks on the press from former President Donald Trump, the growth of fake news and disinformation campaigns and the plunging approval ratings of the press, restoring that trust is crucial.

NPC Luncheon: VA Secretary Denis McDonough
Denis R. McDonough, secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, addressed a Nov. 7 Press Club luncheon on the topic of the impact of the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act, signed by President Biden in August, that expands medical benefits to veterans exposed to toxins from burn pits on military bases. McDonough also delivered an update on the state of America’s veterans and their families.
