Iconic images of U.S. presidents burned in our minds often start with photos shot by White House photographers, both media and official staff photographers. Annual Civil War Battlefield Trip, Sponsored by: NPC Events Team
The National Press Club’s annual Civil War battlefield trip will be on Saturday, Sept. 8, to the Antietam National Battlefield in Maryland, where the bloodiest one-day battle in American history took place on September 17, 1862. Club members and guests will depart by bus from the F Street side of the National Press Building at 8 a.m., returning at approximately 4:30 p.m. There is no charge, but Club members are asked to bring only one guest each. The NPC Events Team and NPC American Legion Post 20 are sponsoring a tour of the historic Washington Navy Yard on Friday, June 1, at 11 a.m. NPC members and guests should meet just outside the Navy Yard’s Sixth Street gate on M Street SE. Attendees will accompany escorts through security. Commercial parking is nearby; the nearest Metro stop is Navy Yard/Ballpark Station (New Jersey Avenue exit).
