Teams of Know-it-alls should assemble in the Truman Lounge at 7pm for a fun night of worthless trivia with a great crowd. Enjoy cold beer and the Reliable Source's signature menu while you show off your smarts. Each team needs to include at least one NPC member. Round prizes will be awarded along with the evening’s grand prize of $50 off the winning team’s tab at the Reliable Source. No reservation is necessary and guests are welcome.

South African Night: The Life, Legacy and Values of Nelson Mandela
“South African Night: The Life, Legacy and Values of Nelson Mandela.” The event will include remarks by South African Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool; Edward Perkins, the first black U.S. ambassador to be sent to South Africa from 1986 to 1989; a panel discussion on Mandela’s “Life, Legacy and Values,” followed by a Q&A session, and a tasting of South African wines and cuisine. The panel includes Charlene Smith, the author of the biography, “Mandela: In Celebration of a Great Life,” and a newly published book, “Mandela and America.”

Come watch or cover them with fellow Press Club members and bring your friends. There will be a working area for journalists, and debates will be televised in the Truman Lounge for members only as well as the Bloomberg Room, where the event will be open to the public. 2012 Fourth Estate Award Dinner Honoring Bob Woodward
Bob Woodward, the Washington Post investigative reporter and editor whose work on the Watergate scandal led to the resignation of an American president, has been selected as the 2012 recipient of the Fourth Estate Award, the National Press Club’s most-honored prize. Woodward will receive the award at a gala dinner Friday, Sept. 21. He is the 40th recipient of the Fourth Estate Award, which recognizes a journalist who has made significant contributions to the field through a lifetime of excellence. Click here to order tickets.
