There has never been a more anticipated Opening Day for baseball than the 2021 season. While most ballparks are limiting their capacities for spectators, the Press Club is the next best place to watch the game with friends and colleagues. Fifty fans will have the opportunity to watch the Washington Nationals play the New York Mets on Thursday, April 1. Unfortunately, baseball fans won't be heading to the ballpark this year, so the Press Club will be creating an alternative experience and the next safest option to watching the game at home. National Press Club members are invited to join us for another lively discussion with fellow senior communications leaders on current topics that we all face in our function and profession. Genocide in Cameroon
Since Paul Biya (87 years old and president of Cameroon since 1982) declared war on Anglophones on November 30, 2017, a genocide has been happening in the English-speaking part of Cameroon, causing the death of more than 3,000 civilians, the burning of close to 300 villages and around 500,000 refugees. A press conference on these tragic events will be held in the Murrow Room of the National Press Club by Professor Patrice Nganang (Stony Brook University), writer and manager of the Je Suis Kamto Campaign.
