General Membership Meeting
The National Press Club will hold a general membership meeting for all Club members at noon Friday, Oct. 21, in the Conference Rooms. There will not be a livestream, so please plan accordingly to attend in-person. Members will receive membership updates and Club leadership will speak on matters related to an annual dues increase. The Broadcast-Podcast team will be joined by special guest Brad Mielke of ABC's "Start Here" Podcast on Thursday, Nov. 3 at 6pm. Members are welcome to join the discussion in-person in the Cosgrove Lounge or remotely via zoom. Did you know that Latino underrepresentation in the American media and entertainment industries has barely improved over the last decade? According to a new Government Accountability Office (GAO) report, presented last month at the National Press Club by Rep. Joaquin Castro, D-Tex, Latino journalists only represent 12% of employees in media organizations, despite making up nearly 19% of the U.S. population.
