The National Press Club will hold a moment of silence in observance of the second anniversary of the murder of Saudi journalist and Washington Post Global Opinions contributing columnist Jamal Khashoggi on Friday, October 2 at 2:00 p.m. ET. The National Press Club will mark the anniversary of the abduction and detention of Award-winning journalist and Marine veteran Austin Tice on Friday, August 14 by unveiling a Freedom Clock that will display a dynamic record of the time Austin has been unjustly detained in Syria. This year's exhibit displays members' print photos and electronic images in the Club's 13th floor lobby from Aug. 30 to Sept 27, with a special opening reception on Friday, Sept. 6.
