Photography Team Holiday Party
Celebrate the winter holidays with National Press Club's Photo Team on Wednesday, Dec. 13 in the Cosgrove Lounge. We'll start with a buffet lunch from the Reliable Source, then honor this year's NPC event photographers, followed by a photo show-and-tell on the theme of "travel". As we've done before, participants can interpret the theme anyway they want. Please send one digital travel-theme image in .jpg or .png format to Photo Team co-chair Alan Kotok ([email protected]) by Monday, Dec. 11. At the party, we will show each photo and ask photographers to tell the story behind them.

A Memorial Service for former Club President Mike Freedman will be held by the National Press Club on January 8 at 6pm in the Holeman Lounge. All Club members and their guests are welcome, but registration is required. Freedman was the Club’s 114th President and led the organization through the challenging year of 2020 when the pandemic was at its height. He performed remarkably in that role and was able to bring many important initiatives to the Club despite the challenging environment. Freedman passed away in late 2023 from pancreatic cancer. National Press Club's Photography Team will hear about photographing the Covid-19 pandemic in D.C. from veteran photojournalist Evy Mages, a Washingtonian magazine staff photographer whose career also includes taking images for The Washington Post, the N.Y.
