Photo Team to hear photographer and activist Nancy Shia
D.C. community photographer and activist Nancy Shia will talk about her acclaimed Out My Window photo collection at the next National Press Club Photography Team meeting on Thursday, July 15 at 11:30 am in the Cosgrove Lounge. The Out My Window collection chronicles Shia's 40 years living in D.C. at Ontario Road and Columbia Road NW, and the changes taking place in the Adams Morgan and surrounding neighborhoods over that time. Tacos & Tequila: Celebrate Mexican Independence Day with a Tequila Tasting
Join us on Friday, September 17 as we celebrate Mexican Independence Day with tequila tastings and education. Florina Martinez, the U.S. Representative of the Tequila Regulatory Council will lead a quick educational session about the Tequila Appellation of Origin that will include information about the role of CRT, the territory of production, categories and classes of tequila and some tasting notes. Photography Committee Holiday Party
This year's Photo Committee holiday party happens on Tuesday, 17 December at 12 noon in the McLendon Room, next to the Reliable Source. We'll start with a self-serve, self-funded lunch, with the party following lunch. We will use the occasion to recognize our intrepid volunteer photographers, who answered our calls to cover Club events in the past year. Those individuals deserve our heartfelt thanks, and we'll do just that on 17 December. Gloria Browne-Marshall plans to present her latest book, The African American Woman, 400 Years of Perseverance at a National Press Club Book Rap on Feb. 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cosgrove Lounge.
