Acclaimed Emmy Award winning filmmaker Ken Burns joined by Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., will talk about race in America at a National Press Club luncheon March 14. NPC Luncheon with Dr. Margaret Hamburg, Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
Dr. Margaret Hamburg, the outgoing commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, will speak at a National Press Club Newsmaker Luncheon on March 27. Dr. Hamburg, the FDA commissioner since May 2009, announced her retirement from the agency on Feb. 5. She will step down in late March. Dr. Stephen Ostroff, recently FDA chief scientist, will be the Acting Commissioner until Dr. Hamburg's successor is named.
