The National Press Club's Annual Journalism Awards Dinner will be held on Tuesday, August 6, beginning with a Reception in the Holeman Lounge at 6 p.m., followed by Dinner and a Program at 7 p.m. in the Ballroom. Discussion with Photographer David Spielman
The National Press Club's Photography Committee is hosting veteran New Orleans-based freelance photographer David Spielman for a discussion. Mr. Spielman will show and discuss images from his new book, "The Katrina Decade: Images of an Altered City", published by The Historic New Orleans Collection on the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina's landfall. The Board of Governors will present “Our American Treasures,” a gala on Jan. 22, 2016, to celebrate the inauguration of Thomas Burr as the 109th president of the National Press Club. The gala for Burr, the Washington correspondent for The Salt Lake Tribune, will pay tribute to two of America's most valued traditions: the preservation of truly inspirational landscapes – in a nod to the 100th anniversary of the National Park Service – and the protection of the freedoms of the press.
