When Journalists Must Flee: Remote Reporting and Next Steps
Join the National Press Club on World Press Freedom Day at 1 p.m. in the Fourth Estate Room for a panel on remote reporting. Journalists who have been forced to flee their countries will convey their own personal stories of how they got out and got settled in a new location. They will share what circumstances lead them to leave and what the current climate is for journalists in their home country. They will highlight the process they underwent when trying to cover what's happening in their countries.

Japan’s Ambassador to the U.S. Koji Tomita will outline key issues for the upcoming G7 Hiroshima Summit at a Headliners Newsmaker on May 9 at 9:30 a.m. at the National Press Club. Leaders of the G7 member states of France, the US, the UK, Germany, Japan, Italy, and Canada and the EU president will meet May 19 to May 21 in Hiroshima.
