Book Fair and Authors' Night
The National Press Club held its 22nd annual Book Fair and Authors' Night. More than 100 authors attended to discuss, sell and sign their books. Part of the proceeds from the event are used for the National Journalism Library. Mr. Thomas and Mr. Gallagher described the planning of the event. Authors and buyers talked about the books available at the fair.

Salute to Congress Dinner
Members of Congress arose to deliver humorous remarks at the 49th annual congressional dinner sponsored by the National Press Club and the Washington Press Club Foundation. The annual dinner, which features self-mocking remarks by members of Congress to a gathering of the Washington press corps, is a fund raiser for journalism scholarship programs. Rep. Michel presented the Dirksen Award for Distinguished Reporting on Congress to Janet Hook, correspondent for Congressional Quarterly Weekly Report.
