The President's Budget & The Republican Tax Cut
Mr. Lew talked about pending legislation which would provide a roughly $800 billion tax cut over the next ten years. He said that the Republican plan would not save Social Security or Medicare and advocated a plan by the president which would provide a substantially smaller tax cut. He also said that debt reduction should be a greater priority. After his remarks he answered questions from the audience.
