Political Independence for Tibet

The Dalai Lama, exiled leader of Tibet, spoke to a luncheon audience to call for political independence for Tibet, now officially recognized by the U.S. as a province of China. The Dalai Lama is in Washington to talk to the Clinton administration and members of Congress to discuss U.S.-China relations and appeal for recognition of Tibet. Following his prepared remarks, the Dalai Lama responded to questions from members of the audience.
