The Hunters is a military thriller set in Somalia. The fictional story takes readers into the dangerous zone continuing the adventures of Michael Parson, now a colonel, and a friend who decide to fly relief supplies into lawless Somalia. The presence of a Hollywood celebrity and activist complicates the situation for Parsons and his companion, who are already going against an al-Shabaab leader's edict by showing up with aid in the first place.

Young served in Iraq and Afghanistan as a member of the West Virginia Air National Guard, and also worked as a journalist for the Associated Press and as a commercial pilot. He has written both fiction and non-fiction books about the military. The Hunters is his eighth book and the sixth featuring Parson.
