Authors to discuss African American press pioneers, 6:30 pm Feb. 25
In honor of Black History Month, the National Press Club Book & Author Committee plans to host a discussion of pioneers of the black press at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25.
Tickets are $5 for Club members; $10 public. Members should login for the discount code.
Panelists include Carol Booker, editor of "Alone Atop the Hill: The Autobiography of Alice Dunnigan, Pioneer of the National Black Press" and James McGrath Morris, author of "Eye on the Struggle: Ethel Payne, the First Lady of the Black Press."
The event includes a panel discussion, questions from the audience and book signing.
This event is a fundraiser for the NPC Journalism Institute, the nonprofit affiliate of the Club.
