Club member Dell'Orto examines immigration coverage on latest NPC podcast
National Press Club member and author Giovanna Dell'Orto discusses the challenges of covering immigration from the southern borders of the European Union and the United States in the latest edition of Update-1, the National Press Club podcast.
Dell'Orto a journalism professor and former Associated Press immigration reporter, and member of the National Press Club, speaks in the podcast about how media coverage of immigration challenges is often too narrowly focused and fails to take into account the cultural, political, and economic factors behind mass migration.
Dell'Orto teaches international journalism and communication history at the University of Minnesota's School of Journalism and Mass Communication. She is the author of three books on news and international affairs and is working on a new manuscript about foreign correspondence.
