NIH leader plans to discuss Ebola at National Press Club Luncheon Nov. 21

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), plans to discuss the Ebola outbreak at a National Press Club Luncheon on Friday, Nov. 21.

The Luncheon will begin promptly at 12:30 p.m. and Fauci's remarks will begin just after 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session.

One of the world's leading experts in his field, Dr. Fauci has been swamped with requests by the media, medical community and legislators for his views and guidance regarding the Ebola issue.

Fauci has been with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) since 1968. Internationally known and respected for his expertise in immunology and infections diseases, he has led NIAID since 1984. He has received numerous awards for his key contributions to HIV/AIDS research and other immunodeficiency diseases. A part of the NIH network, NIAID oversees an extensive research portfolio on infectious and immune-mediated illnesses.
