PR Veteran Larry Weber to headline annual NPC Communicators Summit Oct. 24

Global communications expert and veteran public relations industry executive Larry Weber will headline the second annual NPC Communicators Summit on Friday, Oct. 24, at 8:30 a.m. in the Holeman Lounge.

The theme of this year’s summit is “Brand Storytelling: Enhancing Communicator Strategies for the Digital Age.”

In addition to a luncheon with Weber and NPC President Myron Belkind, the event will feature two morning panels examining how technological advancements, combined with effective storytelling, are helping companies and organizations convey messages and raise their visibility.

Now in its second year, the NPC Communicators Summit is open to all NPC members. Tickets are $50 each for NPC members and $75 each for non-members, and include breakfast and lunch.

In the first session, “Harnessing Digital Strategies,” communications professionals from the federal government, non-profit organizations and a PR agency will focus on how the convergence of brands and the media is redefining communications and the consumption of information.

In the second session, panelists representing “The New Face of Media” will discuss how their companies, which include broadcast and cable networks and an online business news outlet, are embracing a variety of digital platforms to reach and engage audiences.

Belkind will interview Weber during lunch on the future of communications, the social web and building online communities.

Weber founded the Weber Group in 1987, and within a decade it became the world’s largest PR firm. Interpublic Group acquired the Weber Group in 1996. Today, Weber is the chairman and CEO of the integrated marketing communications agency Racepoint Global.

In Weber’s latest book, “The Digital Marketer: Ten New Skills You Must Learn to Stay Relevant and Customer-Centric,” he explains the latest digital tools and trends used to increase engagement, outperform competitors, and target and position companies and clients.
