The theme of this year's photo exhibit is the climate crisis, where climate science findings are heeded by some, but not all authorities worldwide. Reception goers will hear from Emily Petersen, a top visual storyteller in the field of science. Petersen, who leads the visualization team at Science magazine, the world's leading research journal, will tell and show how compelling images convey complex findings in climate science.

Petersen leads visual coverage across the magazine’s covers, features, news, and social media. She's an award-winning photo editor, writes for the Science Visuals blog, is an International League of Conservation Photographers ambassador, and recognized by Nikon as an expert in science and media.

The exhibit this year draws 52 participants displaying 185 digital images and print photos, the third year in a row the event has drawn more than 50 Club members. Some 106 images show the stark damage caused by a degrading climate from hurricanes, typhoons, fires, drought, and melting glaciers. But the photos also show efforts to mitigate those harms, and citizens demanding their leaders take more effective actions.

The show runs Sept. 2-30 in the Club's main 13th floor lobby.
