Award-winning D.C. photo collection previewed at March Photo Team meeting

National Press Club members will get an early look at a new collection of prize-winning images depicting life in Washington, D.C. over the past two decades at the Photography Team's next meeting on Wednesday, Mar. 19 at 12:00 noon in the Cosgrove Lounge. Heather Goss, founder of Exposed DC, a local photography organization, will tell how the collection came about and show a sample of its 600+ images, set to reside at the Martin Luther King Public Library beginning in May.

Exposed DC (exposeddc.com) is a not-for-profit online network of photography enthusiasts, started by Goss in 2006. The group's web site and weekly emails tell about photography exhibits, competitions, meet-ups, and classes in the region, as well as commercial resources for photographers. Plus Exposed DC holds an annual photography contest to highlight superior photography depicting life and times in D.C.

The Exposed DC Photography Collection donated to the D.C. library offers more than 600 winning entries from the annual contest over the past 18 years. The library announced the donated collection in Oct. 2024, with its official opening planned for May 24, 2025.

The Photography Team's meeting takes place on Wednesday, Mar. 19 at 12:00 noon in the Cosgrove Lounge. The session begins with a self-funded lunch, and Goss's talk begins at 12:45 pm. The program will be made available to remote participants over Zoom beginning at 12:45 pm. Registration is free, but required for both in-person and remote participants.
