Photo Team meeting presents report from Ukraine, Feb. 19

National Press Club member Flavius Mihaies tells about the impact of the war in Ukraine on the country's Orthodox church at a meeting of NPC's Photography Team on Wednesday, Feb. 19 at 12:00 noon. The meeting takes place in the Cosgrove Lounge and registration is required. (Log-in as an NPC member and click on Get Tickets.)

Mihaies is an independent journalist and consultant on sustainable development, food security, foreign policy, and conflict resolution. He visited Ukraine last year to learn about the little-reported schism in the Ukraine Orthodox Church. His story in The American Conservative magazine appearing in Aug. 2024 displayed a few of the 2,000 photos taken during the visit. At the Photo Team meeting Mihaies will present more images from his visit and tell how he gained access for the photos.

The Feb. 19 Photo Team meeting begins with a self-funded lunch at 12:00 noon in the Cosgrove Lounge. The program begins at 12:45 pm and will be available at that time over Zoom. Registration is required for both in-person and remote participants.
