"The Vegetarian," a novel in three parts told from the point of view of three different characters, explores the transformation of Yeong-hye, an ordinary wife, after she experiences a series of nightmares. The Nobel Prize committee cited the South Korean author “for her intense poetic prose that confronts historical traumas and exposes the fragility of human life."
