Silver Owls will give a Hoot Dec. 13

The  next Owls Hoot is set for 5:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 13, in the National Press Club Grand Ballroom.

All Press Club members and their guests may attend. Tickets are $70 for members and $80 for guests. Included in the price are the Club's superb three-course dinner and two glasses of wine. The meal will be preceded by passed hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.

Owl logoSilver Owls are those who have been members of the Press Club for 25 years or longer. Golden Owls are those who have been members 50 years or more. And Platinum Owls have roosted at the Club for 60 years or longer.

If you are a new Silver, Golden or Platinum Owl and you attend the Hoot, you will be introduced and presented with a certificate attesting to your new honored status in the National Press Club.

Speaker for the event will be publisher Llewellyn King, a Club member since Jan. 11, 1966. He's on track for Platinum status in a little over a year.

He was the founder and editor in chief of The Energy Daily. The Washington-based newsletter was the flagship of his award-winning King Publishing Group, which he sold in 2006.
